What to Bring for the Most Epic Saltwater Cycle Cruise

You’ve got your cruise booked and are preparing for an epic outing on the Cycle Boat or Brew Barge, but what do you bring? Flips flops or closed toe shoes? Bathing suit or shorts? Seltzers and chips or beers and sandwiches? While the answer to these questions is mainly whichever your squad prefers, we do have some suggestions for how to make the most out of your cruise experience!

Drinks!
All of our cruises are BYOB, so bring your favorite beverages (minus liquor please and thank you!). Our personal favorites for boat days are High Noons. If you aren’t already a “Nooner”, these vodka soda seltzers are light, bubbly, and made for boat days.

Our personal favorite is the pineapple, naturally, but grab a mixed pack and we will throw them on ice for you! For the beer lovers out there, our local grocery store Harris Teeter does a “build your own six-pack” where you can choose all local Charleston beers. You can’t go wrong with any of the beers from Palmetto Brewery, with a great selection of seasonal favorites!

Food!
Boat snacks are essential to any boat day. After a few drinks when the seltzers kick in, it’s always a good idea to have munchies on board! If you are looking to really wow your group with a local spread, try getting a cheese board from Chucktown Cheese Boards, artisanal sandwiches from Caviar and Bananas, or for you morning warriors, a box of breakfast biscuits from the famous Callies Hot Little Biscuit. Pro tip: make sure to order from Callies well in advance, those morning lines wrap around the block!

Make a playlist!
Both the Saltwater Cycle and Charleston Brew Barge boats are fully equipped with new Bluetooth sound systems so the party is always going! Our crew is happy to play music for your group, however we suggest making a party boat playlist ahead of time so all of your favorite songs are ready to go! Pro Tip: If you don’t want to make a playlist, play any of the Big Bootie Mixes by Two Friends! Each one is an hour and fifteen minute mashup made for partying.

Bring props!
Matching tee shirts and bridal sashes are always a fun ideas, but what we suggest to bring the party to the next level is props. We will just let these pictures speak for themselves.

And last but not least, WATER!
The Charleston summer heat is no joke, combined with drinking and dancing. Definitely grab a case of water to stay hydrated and cool!

We hope these tips help you prepare for the best Charleston booze cruise. Once you’re on board, crack a drink and we will take care of the rest. Cheers!
